Nichola and Lisa - Reunited with Father
Nichola and Lisa were reunited with their father, Alan after 25 years, thanks to a twist of fate through Friends Reunited. Jackie, a friend of Nichola's mother-in-law, had recently used Friends Reunited to reconnect with her old school friend - who happened to be Nichola's Grandmother. When Jackie discovered Nichola was searching for her long-lost father, Jackie was able to reunite the girls with their grandmother, and soon after, their father Alan. In a further twist in the tale, Alan announced he was not Lisa's biological father, but this didn't spoil the joyous family reunion of the girls and their father, with the help of Friends Reunited.
Jacque and Gary - Brother and sister reunited
Jacque reunited with her half-brother, Gary, on her second attempt at finding him through Friends Reunited. She had registered back in 2003, but Gary's name didn't come up. However, six months later she tried again, this time, his name was there. She sent an email and he responded straight away and, after 27 years, they were siblings reunited. Gary had been put into care at 7 years old after his mum was unable to look after him. Despite Jacque sharing the same dad as Gary, he wasn't welcomed back into the home by his dad and was put into care. Jacque and Gary have met up a few times since she found him, Gary has asked Jacque to be godmother to his daughter she will be attending his wedding next year.
Kevin - Remembering old Friends
Kevin, 24, had a motorbike accident in 2002 and suffered some memory loss as a result to the accident. Since the accident, he registered on Friends Reunited where he was able to contact old school friends who helped him piece together his past. As a result, Kevin successfully got back in touch with an ex-girlfriend from his school days. Kevin and Jane met for a reunion shortly after, and are now back together.
Yvonne and Colin – First Love Reunited
Yvonne and Colin were first loves, dating for 18 months as teenagers in the 1970s. They split, aged 16, because Yvonne was offered a job in the police force and took it. Colin was devastated and went onto marry another woman on the rebound. In all he married twice and Yvonne married a fellow police officer and was with him for 27 years. Colin also was in a major car accident in the intervening years, which left him disabled. Furthermore, he had an operation as a result of the accident which went terribly wrong. Suffice to say, he was at a very low ebb. Yvonne had always thought of Colin and so she logged onto Friends Reunited and found Colin listed. She emailed and received an immediate response. Within two weeks they moved in together and are planning to marry, something they say they should have done 30 years ago.
Nicki - Family Reunited
Within a month of entering her father's details on Friends Reunited, Nicki went from a two person family to a family of over 20 cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. Nicki was searching for her father, whom she hadn't seen since she was five and was soon in touch with two half sisters who alerted her to the rest of the family. Nicki has met with her father and all her other new found relatives thanks to the connecting power of Friends Reunited.
Karen and Tim – Pen Pals Reunited
Karen and Tim met after both responding to a teenage magazine pen pal column. Unfortunately disapproving parents forced the couple apart, although they tried to keep the relationship going in secret. Twenty-one years later, Karen was browsing Friends Reunited and searched for him. His name popped up and she emailed him. He emailed back and soon after, they reunited. Within a week they knew they were meant be together and on October 23rd, they married.
Tony – Forces Reunited
Thanks to Friends Reunited, the 28 (BR) Signal Regt reunion was a total success and there is already talk of another one for next year. It is over 25 years since they had seen each other, but they picked up straight from where they left off, when they met in Hinckley in Leicestershire. Arranged thanks to Dick Rutherford, a fantastic time was enjoyed by all, reminiscing with old service mates. One of the boys, Kevin, even produced the old Regimental flag which he acquired during his time.
Pauline and Heather – Old Friends Reunited
Pauline and Heather were the best friends at school in Jaywick. At the age of 13, Pauline’s family moved away and the 2 best friends gradually lost contact. In 2005, Heather lost her beloved husband and, at a loss, decided to search for Pauline on Friends Reunited. The joy and excitement of reuniting with her old friend was overwhelming. The pair finally met at Jaywick Beach several months later, where Pauline had visited for 25 years, hoping to run into her old school friend. They now see each other regularly and believe their special friendship is destined to last forever.
Simon and Alison – Rekindle An Old Flame
Simon and Alison once shared a brief romance at school in 1986, during their teens. 18 years later, Simon received a message from Alison, his old school girlfriend through Friends Reunited. After an initial exchange of messages, they decided to meet up for a reunion to share old memories. Just 4 months later, they had rekindled an old flame and decided to marry. The next year, the couple became parents for the first time, topping the amazing tale of their reunited relationship.
Paul and Alison – School Reunion
Paul and Alison both had parents in the armed forces, which brought them together at Prince Rupert School in Rinteln, Germany in the 1980s. 13 years later, a reunion for the old school friends was organised through Friends Reunited, where the pair were to meet again. In just 2 weeks, the couple had fallen madly in love, and eventually married 2 years later and are now happily settled with children back in England.
